App created to inform customers if McDonald's ice cream machine is broken

LAS VEGAS - "I'm sorry. The ice cream machine is broken," is the never-ending story dairy lovers tend to face at Mc Donald's.

But the pain of ordering a an ice cream Sunday or a McFlurry may finally be over!

After years of complaints from customers that the fast food giant’s soft-serve machines are out of services too much for their liking, an app has been created to tell patrons whether or not they will be able to satisfy their sweet tooth with a frozen treat before they even arrive at the restaurant.

According to TIME Magazine, Ice Check, the app — which is available for Apple iOS devices — allows users to search for their nearest McDonald’s and then shows them the status of its ice cream machine in real-time. And if you happen to be the unlucky customer who discovers a machine is down, you can save your fellow McD’s lovers some trouble by marking the location as “off.”

A person who's not even a part of the company was the brainchild behind the app.

“I came up with the idea for the app around a year ago, after a late night Oreo McFlurry craving went unfulfilled due to the ice cream machine being down,” Raina McLeod, the app’s creator, told BuzzFeed.
