Arbor View school fight results in injured CCSD Police officer

LAS VEGAS - A fight between two girls at Arbor View High School Tuesday morning resulted in a Clark County School District Police officer being injured.

The officer fell while attempting to break up the fight and was hurt. That officer was taken to University Medical Center for observation. He is expected to be ok, but he might have hurt his back.

One student was cited, and the other was taken into custody, according to school officials.  The girl taken into custody faces criminal charges.

A picture of the fight between the two students has been circulating the channels of social media. The picture shows what appears to be the officer down on the floor.

Parents were surprised what had happened.

"We just went and dropped him off, pulled up and saw all the police cars and we're like 'wow there's a lot more than usual,' and he was like 'oh yeah, there was a fight here," said Christy Fordham, parent.

Following the fight, there was an increase in police presence throughout the day.
