Arrest report details crime spree that left 2 dead, 2 hurt

LAS VEGAS -- The female suspect in Tuesday's crime spree that involved two home invasions and three people being shot told police that she and the male suspect, identified by the Clark County Coroner's Office as 27-year-old Cody Winters, intended to steal a car.

Natasha Jackson, 35, is facing numerous charges including murder with a deadly weapon, attempted murder, burglary, attempted home invasion, kidnapping and robbery.

Jackson and Winters were parked on the side of the US 93/95 in a stolen vehicle when they were approached by a man working for Emergency Services for the Nevada Department of Transportation. The man offered to help them with their car, but was taken by gunpoint and forced back into his work van. He was robbed and told to drive the couple to the area of Tropicana and Sandhill avenues when they exited his vehicle, according to the arrest report.

Jackson told police the two were carrying items, including a large flat screen television, and intended to steal a car from a home in the neighborhood. The couple knocked on the door of a home in the 3900 block of Autumn Street and when the male homeowner answered, Jackson said, Winters pulled out his gun.

The homeowner, Richard Ramos, and his wife, Julie Ramos, got into a struggle with Winters and Richard Ramos was shot and killed and his wife was stabbed with a screwdriver by Jackson, the report said.

Two of Ramos' children witnessed part of the attack. They, and another family member, fled the home for safety.

According to the arrest report, Jackson and Winters ran through the Ramos' backyard to a nearby home on Almondwood Drive, but were unsuccessful breaking in. They did enter a nearby vacant home and upon leaving that home, Jackson surrendered to police.

The report says, Winters then entered another home on Almondwood Drive where he shot a woman. He was confronted on the front porch by police officers and shot and killed.

Jackson has been booked into Clark County Detention Center.
