Assaults on Nevada Law Enforcement Officers By Firearm

Nevada law enforcement officers experienced 289 assaults by firearm from 2002 through 2011, the Nevada Department of Public Safety reported.

The largest number, 130, were related to domestic disputes or other disturbances. There were also 34 tied to traffic pursuits or stops, 23 that involved an investigation of suspicious individuals or circumstances, and 17 linked to robberies in progress.

The highest number of firearm assaults on law enforcement officers, 51, was recorded in 2006.
