LAS VEGAS - This week, 8 News NOW looks for back-to-school shopping deals – teaming with local bloggers to see who can buy the most items for $88. One woman found deals without leaving her home.
Daisy Teh loves to shop from home, because she is the mother of four children which can be a handful.
"It's not easy. Life sucks. It's hard," she joked.
She's shopping for school supplies on Amazon.com.
"My goal is to find the best deal online in the least amount of time," she said. "That way, I can avoid driving in all that heat and wasting my gas."
Teh says it's important to compare prices.
"Google search works well," she said. "If I'm having a problem finding an exact brand, Walmart.com, Target.com."
One of the biggest selling points for her is to know how good or bad a product really is. She values the feedback column on Amazon.com.
"I'm looking at reviews, seeing bad and good. It takes me just a few minutes to skim through." she said.
She is also keenly aware of the biggest cost associated with online shopping: shipping.
"If you are buying online, having to pay shipping, make sure it's worth it or try to get it for free," she said.
Otherwise, you may spend more for an item than you would have in a store.
In a matter of minutes, Teh purchased 33 items for $87 and change. "With all my comparisons and making sure it was a discounted sale, I think I did really well," she said.
This week, 8 News NOW will show how other shoppers fare. See who can buy the most back-to-school items on an $88 budget.
