Big Weekend Means Big Money for Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS -- From a high profile fight, to Cinco de Mayo celebrations, the strip is extra busy.

Clubs, bars and hotels are rolling out drink specials, music and entertainment trying to get people from all over in the door.

"The reason we came here tonight is because they have a drink special," said Michael Torres.

While the tequila is flowing at Carlos and Charles' at Flamingo, down the street, fans at MGM will have their attention focused on two big names: Mayweather and Guerrero.

"I've come all the way from Trinidad to Las Vegas to see the Mayweather," one fan told 8 News Now.

"We came here we decided we had to see the fight, because it's a once in a life time event," said Jim Vig.

These big events not only bring enthusiastic fans, they're bringing out big spenders. Whether it's for merchandise or drinks, the parties are just getting started and people say they don't mind spending, if it means having a good time on the strip.

"Las Vegas is the only place you can go to have a good time," said Torres.
