Body of teen pulled from water at Lake Mohave

LAS VEGAS - Rescuers recovered the body of a male teenager in the area of Cabinsite Cove of Lake Mohave on Saturday. 

The incident happened around 12:30 p.m. It was initially reported by the National Park Service that the teen was swimming out to help another person, but that has since been updated.

According to witnesses, the Nevada Park Service says, the teen swam out to a person on a raft but the raft starting floating further from shore and the teen began to panic and went underwater.

The teen was not wearing a life jacket.

National Park Service rangers, Nevada Department of Wildlife wardens and Bullhead City Police responded. The teen was located 45 feet below the surface and was recovered by Bullhead City Police divers.

The incident is under investigation. The Mohave County Medical Examiner will identify the victim and determine the cause of death.
