Botched paint job on Virginia Interstate causes mess

CENTREVILLE, Va. — You had one job, road crews. But it turns out, it might not even be their fault.

Drivers headed to Washington, D.C. have to face this mess if they're traveling on eastbound Interstate 66 near Centrevilla, Virginia. Thankfully, road crews said they will be back out Monday evening to correct the problem.

"Some of the lines were broken, while others curved, and one went directly into the retaining wall along the side of the road," WTVT reported.

A Virginia Department of Transportation spokeswoman said she wasn't sure what caused the striping to come off, but suspect recent rain didn't help.
