Boys in Bow Ties in "What's Cool at School"

LAS VEGAS - At Wendell P. Williams an enrichment class is making good on their motto of: encourage, empower, and elevate.

The class is called "Boys in Bow Ties," with bow ties symbolizing butterflies, and much like the transformation of a caterpillar into a butterfly, the focus is on these boys becoming men that are leaders.

Their instructor, Mr. Berry, started this class with the school Principal, as a way to help boys make good choices, and stay on a positive path....teaching life lessons, necessary skills, and the importance of respect, honesty, and kindness.

Berry grew up in this area of North Las Vegas. He considers it essential to give back, and be a leader in the lives of youngsters at a pivotal time. The pull of the streets is strong. He's pulling back.

The boys can talk to Mr. Berry about challenges in this life, and clearly, he has become a role-model.
From performing a weekly act of kindness, to learning to love who they are, to extending a hand in friendship to someone being bullied "Boys in Bow Ties" seem to have already found their genuine leadership skills!
