83 people displaced after an apartment complex fire

LAS VEGAS - At least 83 people are displaced after a fire at an apartment complex east of the Las Vegas Strip.

Firefighters responded to the scene near Desert Inn Road and Swenson Avenue just after 12:45 a.m. Wednesday.

Investigators say the fire started on the first floor and spread to the floors above including the attic. The fire was contained in a short amount of time. But the fire did leave behind a lot of damage.

A total of 45 units were damaged by the fire. The Red Cross is helping the 83 people that were displaced.
