Cadaver Dogs Assisting in Key Largo Fire

LAS VEGAS -- Cadaver dogs have alerted firefighters to the possibility that there may be deceased bodies at the Key Largo fire site from Thursday afternoon.

Clark County fire officials want to make it clear that this is only a possibility right now, as cadaver dogs are sometimes wrong.

As a result of this alert, heavy equipment has been dispatched to the scene to remove debris to see if the canines are correct.

Task Force 1 is also on scene to assist in moving debris and thoroughly searching for bodies. Task Force 1 is comprised of first responders from Clark County Fire Department, Metro and other local agencies trained and equipped to respond to major search and rescue operations.

8 News NOW has a crew on scene and will bring you the latest details on this search.
