Calories Count But Protein Saves Muscle

A new study found that people gain weight according to how many calories they overeat, which we already knew, but researchers also discovered that the amount of protein in the diet will determine if the weight gain is lean or fat.
In the study, done on subjects in a clinical setting, those on a low-protein, high calorie diet lost muscle mass.
Those on the high-protein diet gained the same amount of weight, but it was leaner.
