CASA volunteers commit to speaking up for kids

LAS VEGAS - Volunteers are committing their time to help the lives of foster children.  On Monday, 17 CASA volunteers took an oath to speak on behalf of 47 foster children at family court.

Along with court, they will also represent these children in school, and at family meetings.  CASA has about 350 volunteers, but many more are needed.

"There's like 3,000 kids, and there's only 300 volunteers, so there's a huge chunk of kids who don't have anybody advocating for them," Patrick Adams, a CASA volunteer said.

Last year nearly 1,000 children had a CASA volunteer to help navigate them through the system.
