CCSD school bus involved in crash

LAS VEGAS - A Clark County School District bus was involved in a crash with a pickup truck this morning at Martin Luther King Boulevard and Washington Avenue.

There were four students on the bus. No one was injured. Another bus retrieved the students and took them to school.

According to police, the driver of the pickup truck failed to yield the right of way when making a left turn in front of the bus. The crash happened around 6:15 a.m.

The school district averages about 450 bus accidents a year which include everything from a minor scrap on a bus to a more serious crash. There are about 12 accidents a year that are considered serious. Clark County School buses travel 23 million miles a year.
