CES: Smart phones managing your home environment

LAS VEGAS - One of the big trends at the Consumer Electronics Show this year is smart home connectivity.

That is the ability to manage devices and appliances remotely through a smart phone. For example, with a smart air management system, you can recreate not only the air temperature, but the humidity and air purity levels from any place in the world in your home.

"The really cool thing about this here is you can take the small reader device and say you were to go to San Francisco and you like the air quality or the humidity there, you can take a reading and bring it home and sync that specifically to your home," said Jen Fisher, Changhong smart air system.

The Changhong company's smart A/C works in sync with a humidifier, de-humidifier, and air purifier to recreate any environment.

It's one of several smart home devices at CES this year.

Also the next generation of virtual reality is on display. There is a Samsung Galaxy display. Dozens of people at a time were putting on headsets and experiencing a ride in a speedboat down a narrow river.
