Charges Dismissed in Corrupt Lawyer Trial

There were major developments in the conspiracy and fraud trial of personal injury attorney Noel Gage Monday morning.

A federal judge dismissed 13 of the 19 charges against Gage. The jury will still hear the main conspiracy charge and five of the mail and wire fraud charges. Most of the charges dismissed deal with counts related to the Carlos Pachas case. Pachas was left in a vegatative state after surgery.

The conspiracy charge alleges that Gage raked in millions of dollars by scheming with medical fixer Howard Awand and others to take large sums of money out of the settlements of severely injured clients and then funnel the money into the pockets of Gage, Awand, and others.

The jury is expected to begin deliberations Tuesday morning
