Cirque du Soleil performer injured during "O" show

LAS VEGAS-- A Cirque du Soleil artist has been released from the hospital after getting hurt during a performance.  A viewer called 8 News Now and tipped our team off to the fact that an artist was injured while performing during the second act of "O" Wednesday night. 

Immediately, 8 News Now reached out to Cirque du Soleil and a spokesperson for the show did confirm that a Russian Swing artist was hurt in the show and was immediately taken to the hospital. 

In a statement, the spokesperson for the group also stated that the performer, whose name hasn't been released, was sent home from the hospital Thursday morning and they're doing well.  Cirque du Soleil said they plan to investigate the incident to figure out how this happened.
