LAS VEGAS - The city of Las Vegas will hold a special election to fill the Ward 5 council seat vacated when Ricki Barlow resigned.
Barlow resigned in Jan. 2018 after pleading guilty to federal fraud charges. He had more than a year left in his term.
The Las Vegas City Council voted unanimously to hold a special election on March 27, 2018.
Candidates can file for the seat on Feb. 13 and 14 and early voting will be on March 22 and 23.
The election could cost the city as much as $80,000.
