Clark County to take over ownership of news racks

LAS VEGAS -- Clark County commissioners voted Tuesday in favor of replacing private news racks on the Las Vegas Strip with county-owned racks that have a nicer appearance.

County commissioners have been trying for years to exert more control or ban the racks that often have pictures of scantily clad women in plain view. The ACLU has fought the county's actions claiming it would impinge First Amendment rights. County officials will not regulate the content inside the racks.
