Climber injured in fall near Blue Diamond in Red Rock area

LAS VEGAS - Medical responders rushed a climber to the hospital on Saturday morning after the climber suffered a head injury during a fall, according to police. 

The fall happened near Blue Diamond near the Gypsum mine, one witness said.

The injured person was climbing with a group of people when the fall occurred, according to Lt. Brian Cole, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. 

Mercy Air transported the climber to UMC Trauma. Investigators could not provide a condition of the climber at this time.
