Construction worker falls to death working on manhole near Las Vegas Blvd, St. Rose Parkway

LAS VEGAS - A construction worker fell while working on a manhole Monday morning.

It happened around 10:40 a.m. near St. Rose Parkway and S. Las Vegas Boulevard.

According to the Clark County Fire Department, the man was doing some sandblasting in a manhole when he fell 20-30 feet into the hole.

The manhole was a confined space and was only 36 inches wide, which means, it can only fit one person at a time.  There's no word on how the construction worker fell.

Officials are working to retrieve the construction worker's body.  His identity will be released once his family is notified.

Work has been halted, and it will remain that way until Metro Police, and OSHA's investigation is complete.

This is a developing story.
