Cooking up Success in 'What's Cool at School'

It has been said a good cook dispenses happiness, and at Rancho High School, the mood is jovial as students experienced a cooking demonstration from an Executive Chef from The Cosmopolitan's Rose. Rabbit. Lie.

This is made possible by Communities in Schools of Nevada, the largest and most effective dropout prevention program in the nation, doing whatever it takes for students to thrive. They have served over 58,000 students in Nevada.

Some students are utilizing this cooking demonstration to absorb culinary insight, an experience that involves consideration of a career calling.

Creighton Cingarace, a junior at Rancho High School said, this is "definitely something I want to do in the future....I've always thought of becoming a professional cook."

Chef Steve Gotham showed students insider tips on making egg sandwiches and cake pops - easy, mostly nutritious meals on a budget.

Chef Gotham said "We're trying to target things that they can take home, and be able to make this tonight when they get home if they want to."

Communities in Schools and The Cosmopolitan will connect again with when CIS has their Fall Foodie Gala, called 'Today for Tomorrow' at The Cosmopolitan on November 4th with a mouth-watering line-up from Cosmopolitan restaurants and chefs - the event benefiting Communities in Schools.

That support all driving towards a clear goal: decrease dropout rates, and increase graduation rates.
