Coroner identifies man killed by Henderson Police

HENDERSON, Nev. -- The Clark County Coroner's Office has identified the man shot and killed by Henderson Police as 36-year-old Ryan Allen Marone of Henderson.

The shooting happened on Wednesday near Horizon Ridge Parkway and Gibson Road. Police were responding to a call of shots being fired in the area. When they arrived, they encountered Marone who opened fire and police fired back, police said.

One officer suffered non life-threatening injuries in the gunfire exchange.

The coroner said Marone died of gunshot wounds to the neck and chest.
