Coroner Identifies Woman Dead in North Las Vegas Crash

NORTH LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Authorities have identified a 54-year-old woman who died in a crash in North Las Vegas after possibly being distracted by a cellphone.

Clark County coroner's officials say Las Vegas resident Brenda Autry Zinser died after the Tuesday morning crash. Police say Zinser apparently ran a red light at the intersection of Decatur Boulevard and Gowan Road.

Her Hyundai sedan was struck by a Ford pickup driven by a 71-year-old Las Vegas man.

Police say Zinser and a young child she had in the backseat were taken to University Medical Center in critical condition. She later died.

The truck driver was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

Authorities don't believe alcohol or drugs were involved.

The incident marks the second fatal crash this year in North Las Vegas.
