Coroner IDs Man Killed in Cement Truck Crash

LAS VEGAS -- The Clark County Coroner's Office has identified the man who died in a crash along the northern beltway as 64-year-old James Perkins of Las Vegas.

The cause of death was acute carbon monoxide intoxication and inhalation of products of combustion.

Perkins was behind the wheel of a Nevada Ready Mix cement truck when it ran into orange construction barrels, then rolled, hit a barrier and burst into flames. The crash happened at around 10 a.m. Tuesday.

The crash closed down the eastbound side of the northern 215 beltway between Decatur and Jones boulevards for several hours.
