Coroner IDs man shot and killed by Henderson Police

HENDERSON, Nev. -- The Clark County Coroner's Office has identified the man shot and killed by Henderson Police Tuesday morning as 51-year-old Jesse Vigil.

The incident occurred near Horizon Drive and Boulder Highway shortly after 3:30 a.m. Henderson Police say two officers stopped Vigil on his bicycle for some questioning when he became combative and pulled out a knife. Police say Vigil stabbed one of the officers in the thigh and hip.

Both officers fired at Vigil, hitting and killing him, police said.

The officer was taken to St. Rose Hospital, where he was treated and released.
