Cowabunga Bay to open July 4

HENDERSON, Nev. -- The Las Vegas valley's newest water park will open on July 4, Cowabunga Bay officials confirm.

The official announcement of the holiday weekend opening will be made later this morning.

The opening of the $25 million water park attraction was delayed by more than a year when some investors pulled out of the project shortly after it started in Dec. 2012.

Those people who bought season passes expecting a May opening date will have a choice of one of the following options:
  • 30 percent cash refund
  • 35 percent Cowabunga cash
  • Two free "bring a friend" passes
  • Full refund
Cowabunga Bay is the second water park to open in Clark County. Wet 'n' Wild opened in May 2013.
