A crash involving Metro Police Officers shut down the westbound lanes of Russell Road Friday.

Police said at around 2:06 p.m. a Metro Police car was involved in an accident with another vehicle at the intersection of Pecos and East Russell.

Two officers were taken to UMC with minor injuries.  Besides the westbound lanes of Russell being shut down, there are also temporary lane closures in the immediate area while police investigate.

Metro says drivers should avoid the area.
