Driver arrested for DUI hit-and-run after hitting 2 Metro officers

LAS VEGAS - A crash involving two Metro officers tied up an intersection in central Las Vegas Monday night.

The crash occurred at Sahara and Burham avenues near Eastern shortly before 7 p.m.

Police say a patrol officer was assisting a traffic officer on an unrelated minor accident.

While the two officers and two citizens were standing in front of the patrol vehicle, another car rear-ended the patrol vehicle and the police car then struck the four people.

Police say the driver of the car causing the crash, fled the scene traveling eastbound on Sahara but was later located at a residence.

The driver was arrested for DUI and hit-and-run.

The two officers and two citizens received minor injuries, according to police.
