Crews respond to fire at the Excalibur

Las Vegas-- Fire crews responded to a two-alarm fire at the Excalibur Hotel and Casino.

A call came in shortly before 11 a.m. Saturday about a garbage fire in the basement of the hotel. Firefighters quickly found and extinguished the blaze, which appears to have started in a housekeeping linen cart, according to the Clark County Fire Department.

Smoke traveled through other areas of the hotel, causing crews to evacuate hotel employees and guests.

A total of 70 firefighters responded to the call. No injuries reported.

Eastbound Tropicana from the I-15 ramp to the Las Vegas Boulevard was shut down while crews responded.
