DA: No DUI Charge for Suspect in Crash that Killed Metro Explorer

LAS VEGAS -- The Las Vegas man involved in a crash that killed a Metro Police Explorer will not be charged with DUI, according to the District Attorney's office.

Blood tests on Jvon Williams show his blood alcohol content was not at a level needed to prosecute him, the DA said.

He is being charged with leaving the scene of an accident and reckless driving in connection with the crash, which happened August 1 and killed 19-year-old Angel Velasquez.

According to police, Williams ran a stop sign near Sahara Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard smashing into Velasquez who was on a motorcycle he had just bought a few days before.
