LAS VEGAS - A driver says giant potholes along Paradise Road between Convention Center Drive and Flamingo Road are driving him crazy.
Help is on the way. Clark County will begin repaving Paradise between Sands Avenue and Corporate Drive this year as part of the Desert Inn and Owens road improvement project.
That project includes work on various valley roads, including Eastern Avenue, Valley View Boulevard and the Pecos-McLeod Bridge. The project is funded by the gas tax.
When crews start repaving Paradise, the work will be done at night.
As for the rest of Paradise Road, Clark County plans to reconstruct the convention corridor, which runs along Paradise between Sahara Avenue and Russell Road.
Three million dollars in gas tax funds have been allocated to this project. The bad news is it will not happen for another two to three years. The project is currently in the design phase.
