Driving You Crazy: Unclear Lanes on Las Vegas Boulevard

LAS VEGAS - Old and new traffic lanes on southbound Las Vegas Boulevard near Harmon Avenue are confusing many drivers.

Painted-over black lines, reflective dots and former, older white lines are baffling motorists, leaving many to wonder which lane is the appropriate one.

Some vehicles use the old lanes. Others use the new lanes, creating traffic headaches. Even experienced taxi drivers seem confused in this area.

Traffic8 asked Clark County officials to make the traffic lanes more distinguishable.

The county has a project in design to mill and overlay the pavement in this section of the Strip. The project will re-align and re-stripe the problematic pavement markings. Construction begins in a few months.
