Eight-year-old ATV rider fighting for his life after accident

LAS VEGAS - A birthday celebration turns tragic for a Henderson family.

A local couple’s 8-year-old son is fighting for his life after an ATV crash in Apex this past weekend. It’s an accident that almost turned deadly for the boy and his cousin.

Tyler Deaderick remains at UMC Hospital in serious condition. His mother, Marciana Brown-Deaderick, tells 8 News Now that she did not know Tyler was riding ATV's by himself.

Though Tyler was wearing protective gear, Marciana says he suffered severe injuries to his arm and pulmonary contusion.

The family is hopeful Tyler will make a strong recovery. You can help Tyler and his family by visiting this page: www.gofundme.com/tylerdeaderick
