Family hopes someone will identify driver in deadly crash

LAS VEGAS - A family is suffering after a 17-year-old was killed in a roll-over crash.

There were four other people in the car and they aren't talking, but the family is looking for answers.

Brittanie Brown's family is heartbroken after losing her early Friday morning. Her mom, in particular, can't understand why none of the other four people who were riding in the truck would come forward and talk about what happened.

The family says that's the least someone could do, after such a senseless loss.

Vibrant, smart and full of life. That's how Tolly Brown describes her daughter Brittanie -- her only child and best friend.

"We were like sisters, frenemies, you know, we fought a lot, loved each other so much," Brown said.

Brittanie would have been a junior at Del Sol High School this year and trying to graduate early. But before starting the school year, she was staying with a friend last week.

She was with her and three others in this truck when it rolled over early Friday morning near Cheyenne Avenue and Clayton Street in North Las Vegas. But since it happened, none of them have told Brittanie's family anything.

"It's killing me because, I as her mother, at least deserve to know that much, to know what happened to my child," she said.

The driver ran away after the crash. Police have not made an arrest.

Brittanie's aunt Charlotte says someone should say something.

"Knowing what you know and not to tell, that's not being a human being, show some compassion," she said.

For now, the Browns are left feeling empty.

Wondering about the memories that had yet to be made.

"And it hurts that I won't get another chance to get that, you know, that 'C'mon mom, let's go, let's go.'"

They're left questioning why.

"I want to know what happened to my baby. I'm here, I got nowhere to go," Tolly Brown said.

"I want justice, that's all I want," Charlotte Brown said.

Brittanie's family has set up an account to help with the funeral expenses.
