Fans in Las Vegas more than ecstatic over Raiders' move; fans in Oakland not so forgiving

LAS VEGAS - Local Raiders’ fans were more than excited about the NFL owners’ decision to approve the Raiders' move to Las Vegas.

“The point is Vegas is the best thing for the Raiders,” said John Baietti, Booster Club Board of Directors.  “It’s the best for the future. It’s a great idea.  There’s no state income tax. Its’ beautiful weather with beautiful people.  They’re going to love Las Vegas.  We're going to make the Oakland fans very welcomed.”

Fans in Oakland are less than thrilled about Monday’s vote.  In fact, for many, the NFL's 31-1 vote to approve owner Mark Davis' application to move the team to Las Vegas will be the final straw that ends his support.
Ivan Davis stared stone-faced at the television as the news came down that the Oakland Raiders would be moving to Las Vegas and was asked if he was a fan of the team.

"I used to be," he responded.

Ivan Davis has been a Raiders fan for about a half-century, celebrating Super Bowl titles, enduring long stretches of losing and sticking by them even during a 13-year move to Los Angeles.

"All the Raiders fans my age, no way you can do it," he said. "Anyone who lived through the first one will not support them. The older Raiders fans, you lost them forever. The ones who gave their life blood to you, you lost them forever."

However, Mark Davis disagrees.

"We're still the Raiders and we represent Raider Nation.,” according to Mark Davis.  "There will be disappointed fans and it's important for me to talk to them to explain why and how."
