Fire Crews Respond to Bee Call in North Las Vegas

NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- Firefighters in North Las Vegas responded to a call concerning bees in a neighborhood near Carey Avenue and Pecos Road.

Initially the call around 12:40 was about a very large beehive, but as emergency crews arrived on the scene, they discovered a truck carrying a load of bees. Some of the bees had become agitated and escaped from the vehicle causing concern.

The neighborhood around Kenneth Road and Orr Avenue was closed to traffic and students at nearby Fay Herron Elementary School were kept indoors as the truck was escorted from the area.

The fire department used foam to kill the bees that escaped.
