Clark County Fire Department crews battled a fire near Flamingo Road and Valley View Boulevard Thursday morning.

The fire started at approximately 12 a.m. at a commercial building on Polaris Avenue. The address belongs to the Peoples Autism Foundation, which provides support for autistic children and their families.

The organization held a school supply drive August 21. It is unclear if the supplies were destroyed in the fire, but Clark County Fire Department officials say the blaze burned many clothing items.

Firefighters also worked to protect the flames from spreading to a nearby pet hotel. Clark County Fire officials say they evacuated all of the animals.
