Fremont East Studios Opens in Downtown Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS -- Another part of the former Las Vegas city hall complex downtown is now converted for use by the growing Vegas tech community.

What used to be the city's Channel 2 studios on Las Vegas Boulevard is now Fremont East Studios, which celebrated its grand opening Tuesday night.

The all-media production studio will serve the expanding technological needs downtown.

"Its nice to see something happen," founder Mimi Pham said. "With all the stuff, finalizing it downtown, its a lot of talk and when we see something finally pop up, it feels good. It feels like we accomplished something."

The studios are part of Tony Hsieh's direction for the downtown tech community. Fremont East Studios has four production offices, four post-production rooms and two sound stages. It's available for projects, teaching and other production needs.
