Gambler "Vegas Dave' indicted for misusing Social Security numbers

LAS VEGAS - Dave Oancea, also known as "Vegas Dave", a well-known sports bettor and handicapper was charged by a federal grand jury of using false Social Security numbers while earning millions of dollars at local casinos.

Federal prosecutors said Wednesday the gambler caused casinos & sports books to file "at least 137 false Currency Transaction Reports" because of dual Social Security numbers.

Oancea told 8 News Now through an intermediary he was "out of town and didn't know when he was going to be back".
