GameWorks brings jobs, family fun to Town Square

LAS VEGAS - A unique arcade is back in Las Vegas. GameWorks completes its move from the Las Vegas Strip to Town Square Thursday.

Doors open at 11 a.m. The 37,000-square-foot complex includes an arcade and a bowling alley.

GameWorks also includes a first-of-its-kind e-sports arena, which allows gamers to compete against each other in online computer games.

The business also contains a restaurant and bar. Company representatives hope to attract tourists and locals of all ages.

"In Las Vegas, it's something that's really missing - that environment where all ages can enjoy something, from the food and beverage to the arcade games," said GameWorks Las Vegas General Manager Steve Ely. "So, the older can feel younger, and the younger can feel older."

The Town Square location required seven months of construction and $8 million. The business is also putting people back to work. GameWorks has hired 130 full and part-time employees.
