Gearing up for local elections; 5 candidates vie for Ward 3 seat

NORTH LAS VEGAS - Believe it or not, it's election season again.  Just when we're finally getting over the election hangover from last November, it's time to focus on local offices.

Municipal elections kick off with the primaries on April 4, a couple of months before the general election on June 13.

The 8 News NOW Politics NOW team looked at some of the more high-profile races, including what's shaping up to be a three-way race for North Las Vegas City Council.

North Las Vegas' Ward 3 has a crowded field of five candidates.  A former long-time state lawmaker and County Commissioner, Tom Collins is challenging incumbent Anita Wood.

But here's the twist, current Mayor John Lee isn't backing either one of them.

Politics NOW Hosts Patrick Walker, and Steve Sebelius have the details.
