Golden Knights ride dominant second period, shutout Avalanche 7-0

LAS VEGAS - The Vegas Golden Knights are an expansion team and their fast start to the season shows no signs of slowing downing the Colorado Avalanche 7-0 Friday afternoon.

The Knights 8-1-0 start puts them one point behind the Los Angeles Kings for first place in the Pacific Division. A four goal second period was the difference led by James Neal’s seventh goal of the season with the Golden Knights being the first NHL expansion team to win five straight games.

Goaltender Oscar Dansk started his second straight game and earned his first career shutout.
