Group To Go Before Judge in Hells Angels Case

LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Five accused Hells Angels members are due to plead guilty in Las Vegas to felony charges stemming from a 2008 brawl with rival Mongols motorcycle gang members that injured six people at a downtown wedding chapel.

The expected pleas Friday before a judge in Clark County District Court would bring to six the number of men taking plea deals to avoid a retrial on charges including attempted murder, battery, assault, conspiracy and taking part in activities of a criminal gang.

A seventh defendant is due to take a plea deal next week.

That would leave one accused Hells Angels member, John Merchant, to stand trial Aug. 5.

Merchant is one of three men accused of stabbing two Mongols members during the December 2008 fracas at A Special Memory Wedding Chapel.
