Henderson City Council to consider offering land for Raiders practice facility

HENDERSON, Nev. - The Henderson City Council will take steps to offer up 55 acres of land for the Raiders to purchase at its January 2 meeting.

The land is located near the Henderson Executive Airport.  The council first needs to consider the resolution before officially offering the land for sale.  The minimum price for the property is set at $6.05 million.  According to the project's developer, the training facility will create 250 full-time jobs for non-players.

If the resolution is approved on January 2, a public meeting will be held on February 6 to possibly approve an offer for the property.

"I look forward to discussing this land sale proposal at our January 2 meeting and I’m very hopeful that we’ll be welcoming the Raiders practice facility and corporate headquarters to Henderson," said Henderson Mayor Debra March.  "We’re only on the 20 yard line when it comes to this proposal, but we’re looking to score a touchdown if this sale goes through.”
