Henderson Man Accused of Killing His Father

HENDERSON -- A Henderson man is under arrest accused of stabbing and killing his father.

According to Henderson Police, Frank H. Nichols III, 21, of Henderson, called police around 11 a.m. Tuesday to report that someone had assaulted his father inside a home in the 900 block of Ambusher Street, which is near Stephanie Street and Patrick Lane.

When officers arrived, they found the man dead.

Nichols told police that he was in the backyard of the home when he heard some yelling inside the house. When he went inside, he saw a man dressed in black running from the home.

However, police quickly decided that the story of an intruder was not supported by evidence at the scene.

Nichols later told police he had an argument with his father and stabbed him. He has been booked into the Henderson Detention Center on a murder charge, after he was treated at a hospital for minor injuries sustained in the fight.

The victim's identity and official cause of death will be released by the Clark County Coroner's office.
