Henderson man faces murder charge in woman's stabbing death

The Clark County Coroner's Office released the name of the woman stabbed and killed in a Henderson home.

Amanda Kaplan, 30, has been identified as the victim.  

According to the coroner, her cause of death is stab wounds to the chest.  The manner in which she died is said to be homicide.

Michael Kaplan was arrested and booked Saturday on one count of open murder for Amanda's death.

The 48-year-old is currently being held at the Henderson Detention Center.  Authorities say they received a 911 call earlier in the day reporting that someone at the home needed emergency medical attention.

Responding officers found a Amanda dead and with a possible stab wound.  Kaplan was taken into custody at the scene.

Three children ages 7, 3 and 3 months, were in the home. They are now in the care of Child Protective Services.

Police did not disclose how Kaplan and the victim were related.
