High Speed Chase Ends with Driver in Custody

LAS VEGAS -- A man is in custody after leading police on a high speed pursuit through the valley.

Metro Police tell 8 News NOW the chase started Wednesday night after officers stopped the man's car for speeding. The man drove away, prompting the chase.

A police helicopter followed the car, which reached speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour and repeatedly ran red lights and stop signs.  

The chase ended at the Camden Pines Apartments on Torrey Pines Drive near Hacienda Avenue. Police blocked off the area and eventually took the suspect into custody.

No one was hurt in the chase, and no property was damaged.
