Highlights from this year's Consumer Electronics Show

LAS VEGAS - The 2017 Consumer Electronics Show is a wrap. This year marked the 50th anniversary of the popular annual convention.

More than 3,800 exhibitors had products on display and about 165,000 people filled the Las Vegas Convention Center for the trade show.

The electric car company Faraday Future was one of many companies to make a big announcement this year with the unveiling of its new car.

"It's very, very fast, that's for sure," said Dag Reckhorn, the Vice President of Manufacturing for Faraday Future.

Attendees also had the chance to feast their eyes on the latest gadgets for the home.

"I think a lot of these companies are flexing their muscles very effectively," said Kayden Russel, a CES participant.

While the products at CES are impressive, the 3.2 million square foot Las Vegas Convention Center is equipped with some serious tech as well.

LVCC has 14 cell phone towers which are needed to deliver cell phone service to the thousands of people at CES. It’s something locals are proud of.

"It's always cool having something local out here between this and other conventions we have out here it's nice," said Jeff Waters, who is checking out CES.

The next CES could be even bigger because $1.4 billion will go into expanding the LVCC. The expansion will create 600,000 square feet of exhibit space.

The expansion will also include technology and security upgrades as well as a new connector so people can access all the halls without leaving the building.

CES next year will be held January 9th – 12th.
