Hockey 'Icing' one way in stopping scoring opportunities

LAS VEGAS - As the start of the National Hockey League season draws closer and a new franchise in Las Vegas, the Golden Knights will be in full workout mode at the City National Practice Facility in a short time.

In the latest edition of “Ice Breakers,” the sometimes confusion aspect of ‘icing’ is a rule that keeps players from just chucking or dumping the puck down the ice eliminating scoring opportunities.
